Keep Mates is a browser extension paired with a web account. The extension captures and stores your saved references locally in your browser; your web account handles sign-in, your Pro membership, and connecting the extension to your billing. This policy explains what we collect and why.

Overview

Creating a Keep Mates account lets you sign in, manage a Pro membership, and activate Pro on the extension using your account's license key. The references, screenshots, and collections you save stay in your browser and are not uploaded to our servers.

We only collect what is needed to run your account, process billing, and enforce free-tier limits. We do not sell your data.

What we collect

Account information
Your email address and an encrypted password, used to sign in and secure your account.
Billing information
If you start a Pro membership, we link your subscription status to your account so we know you have access. Your card details and payment are collected and processed entirely by Paddle.com Market Ltd, our payment processor and authorized reseller — we never see or store any card or payment method information.
Anonymous device identifier
The free tier of the extension generates a random device identifier (not tied to your name or email) and sends it, together with a capture count, to our server. This lets us enforce the free lifetime capture limit even if you uninstall and reinstall the extension. This identifier is not linked to an account unless you sign in and activate Pro on that device.
Marketing email list
If you submit your email to join our product updates list, we store that address and send occasional product update emails. Joining the list does not create an account or a paid subscription. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email we send.
Local preferences
Theme, view mode, sorting, sidebar state, and other UI preferences stored in your browser.

Data storage and security

Your account and billing status are stored in an encrypted database and protected behind an authenticated account session. Content you save through the extension is not stored on our servers.

What we do not do

  • We do not upload or store the references, screenshots, or notes you save through the extension.
  • We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
  • We do not store your payment card details — billing is handled by our payment processor.
  • We do not run third-party advertising trackers in the extension or on the website.

Permissions

The extension uses browser permissions such as tabs, scripting, contextMenus, and storage so you can capture page content and manage your saved library locally.

Third-party services

Paddle.com Market Ltd
Our payment processor and authorized reseller (Merchant of Record). Handles checkout, card details, invoicing, and refunds for Pro memberships.
Supabase
Our database and authentication infrastructure provider. Hosts your account record, subscription status, and the anonymous device usage table described above.
Brevo
Powers the support chat widget on our website so we can answer your questions.
Formspree
Processes email addresses submitted to our product updates list and stores them so we can send you updates and let you unsubscribe.
Google Tag Manager / Google Analytics
Used on our marketing website (not inside the extension) to understand traffic and usage patterns. See “Analytics and cookies” below.

These providers only receive the information they need to perform their function.

Analytics and cookies

Our website uses Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic and usage patterns. These are analytics tools, not third-party advertising trackers — we do not run ad networks or sell data to advertisers. If you are visiting from the EU/UK/EEA, we ask for your consent before loading non-essential analytics cookies, and you can decline without affecting how the site or extension works.

Data retention

  • Account and billing data is kept for as long as your account is active and is deleted when you delete your account.
  • Anonymous device usage rows (device id and capture count) are automatically purged after 12 months of inactivity.
  • We may retain limited billing records longer where required for tax, accounting, or fraud-prevention obligations.

Data controller and legal basis

Keep Mates is operated by Welyeo. For account and billing data, our legal basis is performance of the contract with you (running your account and membership) and, where applicable, our legitimate interest in preventing abuse of the free tier. For analytics cookies, our legal basis is your consent where consent is required (e.g. under GDPR or the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law, KVKK). For the marketing email list, our legal basis is your consent given when you submit your email — you can withdraw it at any time by unsubscribing.

Export and sharing

If you export or share saved content, you are responsible for where it goes and who can access it. Keep Mates does not send your saved content anywhere unless you explicitly trigger that action.

Your account, your control

You can update your account details or delete your account at any time from your account settings. Deleting your account removes your account and billing data from our systems.
